Bell Power Systems is excited to share the upcoming launch of the all-new John Deere JD14 and JD18 marine engines — engineered to deliver exceptional performance, reliability, and ease of integration for propulsion, auxiliary, and generator applications. These next-generation engines are set to raise the bar for marine power solutions in the commercial and high-duty sectors.

The JD14 engine offers higher duty cycles and more horsepower than the previous 13.5L models, making it a powerful choice for modern marine demands. For maximum output, the JD18 delivers up to 599 kW (803 hp) and is specifically built for the toughest commercial applications. Both engines feature high-pressure common-rail (HPCR) fuel systems to optimize combustion, improve fuel economy, and reduce emissions.
Built to Maximize Uptime
Standard with every JD14 and JD18 engine is John Deere Connected Support™, providing remote monitoring and diagnostics at no extra cost — no subscriptions or ongoing fees. The JD18 also features separate cooling circuits for jacket water and aftercooling, further improving durability and machine availability in demanding marine environments.
Extended Service Life
Marine operators will appreciate longer oil change intervals — up to 500 hours using John Deere Plus-50™ II oil. Key components are designed for longevity, including a bronze seawater pump impeller with a service life of up to 10,000 hours. Hydraulic automatic valve lash adjustment eliminates the need for manual valve maintenance, reducing downtime and labor costs.
Streamlined Installation and Maintenance
The JD14’s reduced package size makes it easier to integrate into existing footprints, especially as a replacement for the 13.5L engine. A compact service center and on-board ECU simplify wiring and configuration, while standard front-side service access makes oil and filter maintenance quick and efficient.
